Popular dancehall artiste, David Brooks, also known as Mavado, is to appear in court next week after being charged on Monday, June 13 by detectives at the Half-Way-Tree Police Station.
Mavado has been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm.
He was granted $30,000 dollars station bail Monday evening.
The entertainer was questioned in connection with an incident outside a nightclub in New Kingston yesterday morning.
Mavado turned himself after being listed as a person of interest.
