British Actor Andy Whitfield, the star of television drama Spartacus: Blood and Sand, has died.
Whitfield died in Sydney, Australia on Sunday, September 11, at the age of 39, 18 months after being diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma.
The actor, who was born in Wales and lived in Australia, was a virtual unknown when he was cast as the title hero in Spartacus.
But the hit original TV series quickly made waves with its graphic violence and sexuality.
Actor Liam McIntyre took over Whitfield's role in the TV series when he became ill.
