David Morrisey has landed a key role in the upcoming third season of AMC's "The Walking Dead", AMC has announced. He'll play The Governor, a character who made his debut in issue 27 of the original Image comic book series.
His real name Brian Blake, The Governor is the leader of Woodbury, a small settlement of survivors. He becomes the chief antagonist for Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and his group.
The Governor will appear in "The Walking Dead" season three, a 16-episode order from AMC, which begins production this spring in Atlanta.
