'Twilight' Heads To 'Family Guy' And Comic-Con

Kellan Lutz is voicing a 'Family Guy' character, 'Breaking Dawn - Part 2' is opening Comic-Con and more, in 'Twilight' Tuesday.
By Kara Warner

There is never a dull moment in the world of "Twilight." The fact that we dedicated fans still have a few months to wait before the release of "Breaking Dawn - Part 2" does not mean that our favorite subject and the actors associated with it are not making headlines elsewhere.

This week's "Twilight" Tuesday is dedicated to our favorite bits of "Twilight" news percolating around the Internets:

"Breaking Dawn - Part 2" To Open Comic-Con
As was expected, Summit announced that "Breaking Dawn - Part 2" will once again take San Diego Comic-Con by storm. The film will kick off the festivities in the convention center's massive Hall H as the very first panel on Thursday, July 12. As many of us remember fondly, Hall H was the site of the franchise's first-ever Comic-Con appearance back in 2008, when thousands of excited fans made the pilgrimage to San Diego to see the cast assembled together for the first time. No word yet on which castmembers will be making the trip to the Con, but because it's in support of their last "Twilight" movie, we're betting on seeing most, if not all, of our favorites.

Kellan Lutz Gets Animated
Kellan Lutz is lending his voice to Seth MacFarlane and the cast of "Family Guy." According to Entertainment Weekly, Lutz will appear on an upcoming episode as a love interest for Meg Griffin (voiced by Mila Kunis) as a hunky high school football player Meg fantasizes about. The show's executive producer Mark Hentemann told EW that although Meg convinces him to go on a date with her, Lutz's character has ulterior motives — an interest in one of the other Griffins. Lutz reportedly made a great impression on everyone when he recorded his part. "[He] got into the role and walked that line perfectly," Hentemann said. "He was great. He was very handsome."

Teaser Trailer Postmortem
Have you stopped watching that expertly crafted new "Breaking Dawn - Part 2" teaser trailer yet? Last week's preview not only featured the anticipated first look at several new vampires, but thanks to the enthusiasm and support from the franchise's millions of fans, the trailer broke the record for the most downloads (7 million!) in 24 hours.

Check out everything we've got on "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2."

Kim Kardashian, Beyonce Bond At Watch The Throne Concert

Kanye West and Jay-Z's lady loves look chummy while dancing together at Birmingham, England, show.

Photo:

Kim Kardashian and Beyoncé got chummy while watching their men perform at a Kanye West/ Jay-Z gig in Birmingham, England, on Friday.

The women were photographed giggling with one another among the Watch the Throne tour concertgoers. Usmagazine.com reports that the ladies, dressed rather casually, had a full-on ladies' night. "Kim and Beyoncé were dancing all night!" a source said. "They even went into the mosh pit! It was the most hectic thing ever!"

In another photo taken Friday night, Kim looked like she was singing along while Queen B rested her head on the reality star's shoulder. It's the first time Jay and Yeezy's lady loves have been photographed together. There had been previous reports that B was shunning K even though Kim had been scrambling to make a connection to the pop star. A source adds that it was just a rumor. "Kim and Beyoncé have always been cool," the insider said. "Beyoncé and Jay love Kim and think she's a good match for Kanye."

On Sunday night, the second half of Oprah Winfrey's interview with the Kardashian family aired. In this installment Kim opened up about being friends with the rapper for years before they took a chance on love.

"We met maybe almost a decade ago. I've known him for a really long time — we've been friends for like six or seven years — so it's very comforting to have someone that knows everything about you that respects you, understands, has gone through similar things," the "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" star said. "I can really relate to his mother passing, he can really relate to my father passing. I mean, there's so many similarities in our life that I feel like I'm at a really happy, good space.

"I don't know why it took so long for us to kind of get together," she added. "But I think I needed to go through all my experiences and some that he's gone through."

Adam Levine, Jessica Lange 'American Horror Story' Details Revealed

In 'AHS' season two, Lange is 'a bride of Christ,' writer tells MTV News.
By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Tami Katzoff

Jessica Lange in "American Horror Story"
Photo:

While there have been scant details regarding the second season of "American Horror Story" floating around since it was announced it would be rebooted in a new time and place with spanking-new characters, what fans have been most clamoring to know about is how season one bad girl Jessica Lange will be re-imagined for the series.

"She's not playing this kind of ersatz Tennessee Williams character this time," "AHS" writer Tim Minear told MTV News about Lange in season two. "She's playing something that's a little more East Coast, a little more patrician."

While she was a bit of a darkly motivated, self-involved floozy in season one, her new backstory seems to paint a different picture for the character. "She's playing a nun," he said. "She's playing an administrator of a facility. It's different. In this instance, she's a bride of Christ."

Season one of the FX horror series took place in sunny Los Angeles, which served as the backdrop to Murder House and its disturbed inhabitants, both living and dead. But, season two will take place in the 1960s on the East Coast with a mental institution as the locale for all the creepiness. Lange will call the shots, which is sort of what she did in season one as well, but it seems she'll be motivated in a whole new set of ways.

"We thought it would be cool. I mean, the truth is, when I first met with [creators] Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk about the show, I came in, I read the pilot script, and I'm like, 'OK guys, this is all very well and good — I don't know how you make this into a TV show. I don't know how you sustain this,' " Minear recalled.

"And Ryan immediately had the answer, and that was, 'Oh, the way we sustain it is by the end of the season, we have killed off every character.' And I'm like, 'I'm in!' And then you revamp it. Basically, in season two, you have a whole new story, a whole new location, a whole new time frame. You just do something different," he added. "The reason we're doing it in the 1960s is because that fits the story that we want to tell."

Given that anything is possible in the "AHS" world, there's a chance that the infamous Murder House just might make a cameo. "I wouldn't rule anything out," Minear shared.

Sure, everyone has been salivating over details about Lange and her newly learned good-girl character, but there's another casting that has everyone intrigued: Maroon 5 leading man Adam Levine has been cast as one of "The Lovers." "Let's say that Adam's character is kind of a nod to contemporary sensibilities, as opposed to something from the mid-century," Minear noted.

Levine joins other returning castmembers Zachary Quinto, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters and Lily Rabe as well as Lange.

Levine and his bandmates will drop Overexposed on Tuesday. They will sit down with MTV News for an "MTV First" on Monday to discuss the new album, and perhaps Levine will share more details about his "AHS" role.

Don't miss the premiere of Maroon 5's "One More Night" video during "MTV First: Maroon 5" on Monday, June 25, at 7:53 p.m. on MTV, followed by a 30-minute Q&A with the band on MTV.com.

Wiz Khalifa And SpaceGhostPurrp 'Definitely Cool'

'Wiz is a positive dude,' SGP tells Mixtape Daily, denying any beef in wake of his Taylor Gang dis track.
By Rob Markman

Behind the Beats: SpaceGhostPurrp

SpaceGhostPurrp may currently be at odds with A$AP Rocky, but the Miami rapper/producer doesn't exactly come off as a troublemaker. Many thought that SpaceGhost and Wiz Khalifa had a problem after Purrp released a track called "F--- Taylor Gang," but together they proved a little conversation can go a long way.

"Me and Wiz, we definitely cool, and the song that I made last year about the Taylor Gang thing, it was basically about me saying F the neighborhood," SGP told Mixtape Daily during a May interview.

Khalifa's reach is wide, and his passionate Taylor Gang fanbase doesn't just reside in Wiz's native Pittsburgh. "It's a neighborhood where there were a bunch of kids reppin' Taylor Gang and they were disrespecting my Raider Klan, so we had a feud back then, so I made that towards them," SpaceGhost said of the dis track that he aimed at the unaffiliated Taylors.

After hearing A$AP Rocky's "Pretty Flacko," a track that Purrp produced, Wiz reached out to the rising rap talent. "I love that beat. I'm like, 'Man, that beat is hard as hell,' " Wiz said when he appeared on "RapFix Live" back in April. "After that he sent me that crazy beat, and me and Juicy [J] went in."

The two were quickly able to hash out any misunderstandings and get to work. The beat that SpaceGhost sent would eventually become "T.A.P.," one of Khalifa's favorite songs from his Taylor Allderdice mixtape.

"Wiz is a positive dude — the Taylors that was down in Miami, they were ruthless," Purrp said. "I just wanted him to know that song wasn't directed to him; it was for the negative people who support his movement in my neighborhood."

Purrp is looking to keep the positive vibes rolling. He recently released his independent debut album, Mysterious Phonk: The Chronicles of SpaceGhostPurrp, a collection of his best mixtape tracks over the past year.

Tony Parker Files $20 Million Suit Over Drake/Chris Brown Club Brawl

Suit against W.i.P. club was filed on Monday in connection with injuries NBA star suffered in the melee.
By Gil Kaufman

Tony Parker
Photo:

One of the most high-profile victims to emerge from the shattered glass wreckage of the nightclub brawl
between members of Chris Brown and Drake's crews at New York nightclub W.i.P. has filed a multimillion-dollar suit against the SoHo night spot.

San Antonio Spurs guard Tony Parker, claims in a $20 million lawsuit filed in Manhattan Supreme Court earlier this week that the club's owners are responsible for the "corneal laceration of the left eye and other injuries," according to the New York Post.

A spokesperson for the club told MTV News on Friday (June 22) that they were unable to comment on the suit because they have not yet been served with any papers. In addition, the club, whose owner, Jonathan Cantor, was arrested on unrelated charges
tied to two outstanding warrants, continues to be closed on a temporary basis.

Parker's suit claims that W.i.P.'s owners should have known better than to let the two romantic rivals for Rihanna's affection into the club at the same time. Lawyer David Jaroslawicz added that the extent of Parker's injuries are not yet known, but that eye injuries "certainly don't improve your outside shot." The NBA star and one of the key members of the championship team is slated to play for his native France in this summer's Olympics.

Neither musician is named in the lawsuit, but it does mention them as being the catalyst for the fight. "The defendants were reckless, careless and negligent in permitting Drake's entourage and Brown's entourage to be in the club at the same time despite known tension between the two," the suit reads. "She's been known, like Helen of Troy, to cause trouble," Jaroslawicz said of Rihanna.

According to the suit, Parker wasn't sitting with either party, but has said he was with "my friend Chris Brown" when the troubles started and claimed that he and his friends took some blows before "they started throwing bottles everywhere."

The baller said he's been sidelined for a week as he recuperates from the injury with the help of a "therapeutic" contact lens. While he said his eye felt better at first, it began to hurt when he landed in France to practice with his team for the games, forcing him to visit the ER for more treatment. "I'll be missing the start of the French team because I can't do anything for a week except keep the lens in and then take drops," he told the paper.

Police have not made any arrests over the incident, but they have subpoenaed the security tapes from the club and are reviewing them.

'Brave,' 'Hunger Games' And The History Of Lady Archers

As Princess Merida joins the big-screen leagues of Katniss Everdeen, we look at the sport's storied past, in Hobnobbing.
By Amy Wilkinson

Jennifer Lawrence in "The Hunger Games"
Photo:

A fiery bow-and-arrow-wielding heroine not named Katniss Everdeen? Color us intrigued!

This weekend, Pixar will take aim at the box-office bull's-eye with its first foray into the fairy-tale princess pic. "Brave" follows a young Scottish royal named Merida, who bucks her parents' wishes, insisting on paving her own path — with bow firmly in hand.

Of course, the animated flick is only the latest this year to feature an adept bow-woman (or bowman). There was Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) in "The Avengers," William (Sam Claflin) in "Snow White and the Huntsman" and, our obvious favorite, Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) in "The Hunger Games." Unsurprisingly, this slew of big-screen portrayals has helped revive interest in the ancient sport, with more and more amateur archers sizing up their targets.

But let's be clear about one thing: Bow-besotted babes are nothing new. Lady archers have been around practically since the dawn of time. Follow me down their storied path:

Like most grand ideas, the concept of a woman and her bow has roots in Greek mythology. "Amazon" may be a compliment for a leggy lady nowadays, but maybe it shouldn't be, considering the ancient archers were often depicted with their left breast cut off to make wielding their weaponry simpler. The Greek goddess of the hunt, Artemis, was also frequently pictured holding a bow and arrow (sans missing mammary glands).

Throughout the Middle Ages, archery served dual purposes: fending off enemies and hunting prey for sustenance. But by the Elizabethan era, it had become a posh pastime, with proper ladies learning the sport — along with dancing and riding — as part of their studies. (P.E. was soooo much cooler back then.) In fact, Queen Elizabeth I herself (daughter of Henry VIII) is said to have been a skilled archer.

A few hundred years later, the sport made its Olympics debut in 1900, with women taking up arms at the 1904 games. The event took a hiatus from the Games between 1920 and 1972, reappearing at the Munich Olympics. And while plenty of Hollywood heavyweights have learned the skill for a movie, one took it upon herself to learn for the sport of it. Actress Geena Davis made it all the way to the semifinal rounds of the Olympic trials in 1999, hoping to compete in the 2000 games in Sydney. The games and a gold medal were not in Davis' future, but she already has one gilded goody (namely, an Oscar) to console herself.

And speaking of actresses and archery, the last few decades have offered up a bumper crop of bow roles, from Gwyneth Paltrow in "Emma" to Saoirse Ronan in "Hannah." And, of course, Lawrence in "The Hunger Games."

All we have so say is, may the odds be ever in your favor, lady archers!

Is Katniss your favorite fictional archer? Do you plan to see "Brave" this weekend? Sound off in the comments below and tweet me @amymwilk with your thoughts and suggestions for future columns!

Ween's Former Frontman Addresses Band's Split

'My decision to leave Ween .... was absolutely not made in haste,' Aaron Freeman tells Rolling Stone.
By James Montgomery

Aaron Freeman
Photo:

Last month, much to the consternation of those who worship at the altar of the Boognish, Ween's Aaron Freeman announced — rather matter-of-factly — that he was ending Ween, telling Rolling Stone "It was a good run."

That was apparently a surprise to Freeman's longtime musical partner, Mickey "Dean Ween" Melchiondo, who wrote on his Facebook page that the breakup "is news to me, all I can say for now I guess."

But now, in a new statement to Rolling Stone, Freeman addressed the split — and Ween's fans — letting it be known that his decision was not a rash one.

"I want to thank each and every one of you all for your kind words and support. It means a lot. My decision to leave Ween, however interpreted, was absolutely not made in haste," Freeman's statement reads. "It's evolved over a decade's worth of internal and external struggle." Freeman didn't elaborate on those struggles, but did add that he has no bad blood with Melchiondo, whom he founded Ween with more than 25 years ago. And he closed by saying that he'll continue to make music ... minus the Gene Ween moniker.

"Know that I am extremely proud of all that is Ween. And while Mickey and I are going our separate ways, I wish him only the best. I will always have nothing but love and respect for what we created together," the statement reads. "I need to now move on for myself and for my family. I still, as always, look forward to a future filled with music as Aaron Freeman."

How Laura Jane Grace Came Out To Against Me!

Against Me! speak for the first time since Laura's Rolling Stone interview, remembering the 'simple' way she told them she's transgender.
By James Montgomery

Photo:

When Against Me!'s Laura Jane Grace announced in Rolling Stone that she was transgender, the majority of the story focused on her life ... with only a few paragraphs dedicated to how she broke the news to her bandmates.

This was understandable, of course, and though the details included in that RS story are scarce, they're also incredibly endearing: On the drive from Laura's St. Augustine, Florida, studio back to their homes in Gainesville, the AM! guys debated whether or not they needed to hit the gym "so that if anyone messed with [her], they'd be able to throw down."

But, when Against Me! sat down with MTV News for their first interview since the Rolling Stone piece shone a spotlight on their band, they revealed that there was another reason the story skimped on particulars about Laura's big revelation: Namely, to them, it wasn't really all that big of a revelation to begin with.

"We went to the studio just to hang out, we weren't even practicing, we were just having a meeting, and talking, and she just told us," longtime bassist Andrew Seward said. "It was kind of simple in a way ... [and then] on the drive back, because it's 80 miles from the studio back to Gainesville, I was just going through past lyrics and stuff going 'God, how did I not think of that?' "

"I didn't want to be melodramatic about it when approaching friends ... for me, it is a non-issue. It's something that's always been there for me, I've just never verbalized it before," Laura added. "I didn't really plan on it, I forget what exactly we were talking about, but I got to this point where I felt really frustrated that I wasn't making the point I wanted to make, and I realized I wasn't making it because I wasn't fully explaining myself, and the part I was leaving out was this big integral piece of myself. So it just came out of my mouth, you know, and we were just sitting there and it was like, 'So this is the way it is.' "

Still, Laura admitted she had no idea how her bandmates would take the news, or even if they'd still be her bandmates after she told them. All she knew was that, both personally and professionally, she was tired of keeping secrets ... she wanted everyone to know she was transgender, repercussions be damned.

"I reached a point for myself where writing, I couldn't focus on anything else but writing from a trans perspective or writing about trans issues, and as the album we're working on came together, it became more and more apparent to me that, at some point, I was going to have to say something to the rest of the band," she said. "Otherwise, if you're taking the lyrics to these songs out of context [they're] going to be misinterpreted ... so we kind of reached that point where once we started getting in to doing vocals and you're hearing the lyrics I was like, 'OK, this is the deal. ... There are going to be things that are going to be happening for me that, if I don't tell you this right now will probably look more like I'm insane as opposed to this is what I'm doing.' "

And yet, no one did. And, after being assured by her bandmates that Against Me! wasn't going anywhere — "It was just kind of like, 'Let's still do the band; let's still do everything we normally do.' That's pretty much the extent of it," drummer Jay Weinberg said — they're hard at work on their new album; a conceptual record they're calling Transgender Dysphoria Blues. It represents Laura's most personal work to date, an exploration of her battles with shame and depression, and the freedom of her new life. And, with her band backing her, she can't wait to bring the music to the masses.

"For me, the fear was, if I don't do this and I don't come out with this now, that the band can't go on. It was just feeling like this is what I need in order to continue to be doing this," she said. "Feeling like you're stereotyped into this role of an angry young male, especially in the punk rock scene, was just suffocating to me ... And feeling like so many of the things I was trying to express in my lyrics were being lost on people because it wasn't being framed in the right context, I didn't even want to do it anymore. ... But now, I do."

98 Degrees Reuniting For MixTape Festival Because 'It Just Felt Right'

'We all miss the rush of being onstage together,' Nick Lachey tells Ryan Seacrest.
By Jocelyn Vena

98 Degrees
Photo:

Back in April, Nick Lachey had the message "#neversaynever" for his fans after he shot down rumors that 98 Degrees would be hitting the road this summer.

The excitement over a possible 98 Degrees reunion began to spread in late March after the band's website was spruced up, leading fans to speculate that something greater was coming. Now, a few months later, the rumors seem to finally be coming true — in part, at least.

The band just announced they will be reuniting for one show this summer. On Wednesday, Nick Lachey opened up to Ryan Seacrest about their plans to take the stage at the MixTape Festival in Hershey, Pennsylvania, in August.

"I think we've all been lucky in the 11 years since we last performed together to go on and do stuff individually. Drew [Lachey] was the winner of 'Dancing With the Stars' season 2, and I've gone and done some solo stuff. But there really is nothing like coming together as a unit, as a group, as a band, on the stage, and I think we all miss that. We all miss the rush of being onstage together, performing together, and certainly the fans have kind of been clamoring for it, so it just felt right," he said. "We always said we were not broken up, we were just taking a break, and now it just seemed like the right time to put everything back together."

He also clarified his previous declaration that the band would not be getting together at all, despite the original spate of rumors. "I didn't say we weren't going to do it, but there was some speculation about a full tour happening this summer and our fans have been kind of eager to see us get back together," he said. "I just wanted to make sure that they understood that a full tour wasn't happening this summer, but obviously [I'm] very excited to announce that we're doing this big festival in Hershey in August. So that will be our one and only appearance."

While brother Drew notes that they would have to be able to shuffle around their schedules in the right way to make dates outside of the MixTape Festival work, he added that this particular date felt like the right event to test out the waters for something bigger in the future.

"We're very excited about the opportunity, and we've been toying around with the idea for a couple years of 'if we got back together, when would be the right scenario?' " he said. "And this music festival right here just kind of seemed like the right time to get back together and do a show and kick the tires and see how it feels."

Other boy bands on the lineup for the MixTape Festival include the Wanted, New Kids on the Block and New Kids/ Backstreet Boys mega-band NKOTBSB.

Mac Miller Reunites, Shares Secrets With His 'First Date'

MTV's Rya Backer also has a few chance encounters with 'exes' like Kendrick Lamar and Young the Giant at Bonnaroo '12.
By Rya Backer

Mac Miller on a "First Date"
Photo:

Bonnaroo, you seem so far away already. Earlier this month, I caught some amazing performances — Battles, Feist and Ludacris were just some of my favorites. But between sets, I found myself fighting to maintain my composure as I encountered something many men and women face daily: bumping into an ex.

Granted, they were rapper and rocker exes of the fictionalized "First Date" variety, but still: We'd gone on a date. And yes, there were cameras involved and I'm very much in a real-life relationship (which is to say nothing of the statuses of the many artists I've gone out with), but still — connections were made.

So, on a plot of land somewhere between Nashville and Chattanooga, Tennessee, I ran into upwards of seven "exes." Over a fairly wide expanse, I had chance run-ins with the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. and Young the Giant.

And then there was Mac Miller.

A perennial fave around the MTV newsroom (and a favorite "First Date" episode among rabid followers of the series such as my mother and father), Mac and I caught up with each other to talk about what he's been up to since we first went out late last year for a kosher lunch at New York's Katz's Deli.

"I made history," he deadpanned, referring to his debut, Blue Slide Park, which became the first independent album to hit #1 in well over a decade. In addition to that small feat, Mac toured the world and dropped an acclaimed mixtape, Macadelic. A follow-up mixtape with Pharrell is on deck, and there's even more music to be heard.

"I've been making my own beats, which I've done forever but, like, I'm really gonna start taking it seriously now," Mac told me. "I've been making beats forever, but no one had known ... I kept it secret."

Hopefully, we won't have to wait until a third date — which Mac suggested we do at a NASCAR race — to hear them.

Who should go on the next "First Date"? Share your suggestions in the comments!

Jim Carrey Exits 'Dumb And Dumber' Sequel

Actor is reportedly in dispute with studios, New Line and Warner Bros.
By Kevin P. Sullivan

Jim Carrey
Photo:

After Peter Farrelly, one half of the Farrelly Brothers, confirmed plans for a follow-up to "Dumb and Dumber" in April of this year, it looked like fans of the original Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels comedy would finally get what they wanted: a true sequel.

Plans to start filming with Carrey and Daniels this year now seem to be derailed, however. "Entertainment Tonight" is reporting that Carrey has left the project, which was supposedly titled "Dumb and Dumber To," due to a dispute with the studios, New Line and Warner Bros.

The "ET" website offered the following insight into why Carrey left the film: "According to sources, Carrey grew increasingly frustrated by New Line and Warner Brothers, who he felt showed a lack of enthusiasm regarding the project."

Carrey's representatives passed along this official statement from the actor. "I would have thought 'Dumb and Dumber To' was a no-brainer," he said. "After all, it's implied in the title."

If the conflict with Carrey is not resolved, his exit would surely jeopardize any hope for an official sequel to the 1994 comedy. A prequel, "Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd," released in 2003 without Carrey or Daniels, was never sanctioned by the Farrelly Brothers and bombed at the box office, debuting in the sixth spot in its opening weekend.

While promoting "The Three Stooges," Farrelly had confirmed that both leads would reprise their roles and that shooting would hopefully begin in September.

Jack Osbourne's Multiple Sclerosis Diagnosis: What Does It Mean?

Experts say that Osbourne has a promising range of treatment options.
By Gil Kaufman

Jack Osbourne
Photo:

A few tell-tale signs are what clued Jack Osbourne into the fact that something was seriously wrong with his health. The son of hard rock icon Ozzy and "America's Got Talent" judge Sharon Osbourne revealed earlier this week that he has been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis
 earlier this spring.

According to the "Today Show," Osbourne, 26, decided to visit a doctor when he noticed tingling in his extremities and suffered a 60 percent loss of vision in one eye.

MS is an autoimmune disease that attacks the central nervous system and which currently has no cure, but is very treatable. It causes inflammation in the brain and spinal cord resulting in the loss of myelin, the insulation around nerves. Among the symptoms are: loss of vision, numbness, tingling, excessive fatigue and weakness. The effects can range from mild to debilitating, but experts said that with the right mix of medications and doctors Osbourne has a good chance at leading a fulfilling life.

"The prognosis now is better than it's ever been," neurologist Dr. David Snyder, director of the Multiple Sclerosis Center at New York Hospital Queens told the morning show. "We have treatments we just never had before."

The disease can affect any organ system in the body, according to NBC chief medical editor Dr. Nancy Snyderman. "Every nerve has insulation around it and MS attacks that insulation so that the electrical impulses from the brain to tips of fingers and toes don't work as well," she said. The key for Osbourne is keeping in tune with any changes to his body and getting on the right mix of medicines to help slow down the progress of flare-ups.

"Now somebody on medication, treated early, we're very hopefully we're interrupting the natural course of the disease," Snyder said. "Patients are leading full lives, with families, jobs and travel."

While some people have not responded well to treatments, he said a large number do and lead full, if slightly modified, lives that may require a cane or other precautions. Around 400,000 people in the U.S. have MS, with 200 new cases diagnosed each week. Like other autoimmune diseases, MS affects more women than men, affecting females two to three times more than men.

Osbourne is right in peak age range in which most cases are diagnosed (late teens, 20s and 30s), which is why his revelation is not a surprise to experts. Snyder said that given Osbourne's age, his prognosis is relatively bright.

'Breaking Dawn' And 'Dark Knight Rises': The Trouble With Trailers

Josh Horowitz takes a stand against the teaser-trailer obsession.
By Josh Horowitz

Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson in "Breaking Dawn - Part 2"
Photo:

This is the actual thing. It's not the preview of the thing. It's not the tease of the preview of the thing. It's not even the glimpse of the tease of the preview of the thing. It's the actual thing. I know — weird, right?

If you're an insatiable consumer of media like me (and if you're not, you're in the wrong place. Go commune with nature, you hippie; I'm juggling an iPad, a laptop and a Blackberry with one hand!), you're probably getting sick of the parsing out of "exclusives" during the last few months. I write the following acknowledging there's some hypocrisy here. I (and MTV News) am after all guilty of exactly what I'm claiming to be tired of: the teaser culture. But I'm taking a stand — I hereby go on record saying I am officially sick of 10-second previews of previews. As I write this Tuesday (June 19) morning, a bunch of new trailers and teases and commercials (figuring out the appropriate terminology is a headache in and of itself) just landed on the Interwebs.

Perhaps most notable in your world is the latest from "Breaking Dawn - Part 2" that came out Tuesday morning. Yes, Summit has released what it calls a "ten-second sneak peek of the teaser trailer" in anticipation of the actual teaser trailer for said movie, which presumably will give way to a non-teaser (er, regular?) trailer in a few months. Still with me? Now don't get me wrong: I love seeing early imagery from films I'm anxiously awaiting, but this is not the way to do it. At least not for me. Mind you, this snippet is still worlds better than the time-honored entertainment-show tradition of showing snippets of an exclusive trailer while a breathless correspondent narrates exactly what you're seeing. "There's Bella! And there's Edward!" Yeah, we see that. Thanks, Billy Bush.

Also out Tuesday morning are two examples of advertisements for upcoming flicks that definitely get things right, in my estimation. In the — let's call it "traditional" — category, there's the brand-new trailer for "The Dark Knight Rises," which frankly doesn't show a ton more than we've seen already. But it does package the material so artfully, with a keen sense of self-serious awesomeness ("This year a fire will rise" — yes!), that I doff my broken cowl in its favor.

And then there's my personal obsession, the latest work from Paul Thomas Anderson, "The Master." The second of what I'm guessing will be a series of shorts (calling these trailers doesn't do them justice) has been released, and each is slowly but surely introducing the upcoming flick's key figures. (Joaquin Phoenix is going to steal the film! Wait, no, I take it back — it's Philip Seymour Hoffman's movie!) Make no mistake, "The Master" is the "Dark Knight Rises" for the Sight & Sound-subscribing crowd this year.

Of course, this assortment of teases/ trailers/ shorts/ whatever doesn't even get into the most interesting area of film advertising going today — let's call it the viral short. "Prometheus" may have divided fanboys, but I think we all can agree that "Happy birthday David" was mesmerizing and creepy in all the right ways. So where is the viral video of the Cullens sitting at home watching a "True Blood" marathon? Oh, the possibilities ...

'Prometheus' Dictionary: Translations For Earth-Dwellers

If you're gearing up to see Ridley Scott's sci-fi flick for the first time, make sure you're well-versed in its extraterrestrial lingo.
By Kevin P. Sullivan

Michael Fassbender in "Prometheus"
Photo:

If you're headed out to theaters this weekend to see Ridley Scott's "Prometheus," there are two likely explanations: You've been hounded by your friends who have already seen it with theories and a need for discussion or you're one of those friends and need to see it again.

Either way, "Prometheus" is a dense movie filled with symbolism, call-backs to the original "Alien," and mysteries with elliptical answers, so it might be best to go into the theater with a bit of a primer for what's about to happen.

Whether you're new to "Prometheus" or you're very familiar with the work of Weyland Industries, here are some things to consider before heading into the theater. There are no major spoilers here, but if you want to go into "Prometheus" completely fresh, you should probably stop reading.

Prometheus: The titan who molded man from clay and gave them fire, which he stole from the gods. As punishment, an eagle repeatedly ate his liver, which regenerated daily.

Weyland Industries: The corporation that funds the mission in "Prometheus," creators of the David 8 android, and antecedent to the Weyland-Yutani Corporation from the "Alien" films.

Peter Weyland: Founder of Weyland Industries, played by Guy Pearce.

David 8: An android programmed to assist human life and understand human emotions. He is played by Michael Fassbender in "Prometheus."

Xenomorph: This classic creature from "Alien" bleeds a corrosive acid. It is "a survivor... unclouded by conscience, remorse, or delusions of morality." The perfect organism.

Space Jockey: An enormous, dead humanoid found at the beginning of "Alien" with his chest burst open, surrounded by xenomorph eggs.

Facehugger: A developmental stage of the classic "Alien" xenomorph. This creature attaches itself to a host's face and deposits an embryo in his or her stomach.

Chestburster: The phase after facehugger. Once an embryo fully develops, it will exit its host through the abdomen.

"Lawrence of Arabia": The 1962 David Lean film starring Peter O'Toole as T.E. Lawrence. This film appears in "Prometheus" and is the origin of such quotes as "Big things have small beginnings," "There is nothing in the desert and no man needs nothing," and "The trick, William Potter, is not minding that it hurts."

LV223: An Earth-like moon where scientists travel to in "Prometheus" after finding star maps on several prehistoric drawings.

LV426: An inhospitable planetoid where the crew of the Nostromo encounter the Space Jockey and the xenomorph eggs.

Check out everything we've got on "Prometheus."

Jean Dujardin Eyes The Wolf of Wall Street

The Artist star Jean Dujardin is in talks to join the cast of Martin Scorsese's The Wolf of Wall Street , Variety reports. He'd join Leonardo DiCaprio and Jonah Hill in the film, based on Jordan Belfort's best-selling memoir.

ATLANTA — No matter the drama, Cash Money CEO Bryan "Birdman" Williams is riding with his artists. Never one to indulge in rap beef, on Friday (June 15) during an interview with MTV News, Stunna made it clear that he is in full support of Drake in the aftermath of Wednesday night's brawl in a New York City nightclub that involved Chris Brown and members of their respective crews.

"Well, to me, I think n---as got Drake twisted. A lot of n---as be playin', pitty-pattin' with Drake. I don't like that sh--, period," Birdman said to us in an exclusive interview. "Drake is one of us, so if you f---in' with Drake, you f---in' with us, period!"

Birdman wasn't in attendance when the fight broke out at W.I.P. in NYC, but firmly believes the Take Care MC did nothing wrong. Drake alleges he wasn't involved in the melee, which left a number of people injured including one of Brown's bodyguards and NBA player Tony Parker. "To me, Drizzy ain't did nothin' wrong, he ain't done nothin' wrong to nobody. He just doin' great music," Bird said in defense of his artist. "He's not a reckless guy out there just wildin' out; he's a humble kid makin' great music."

Drake Vows To Outdo Summer Jam At New York Show

It's no secret that the #1 Stunna is about his money, and to him, beef is bad for business. "We never been a brand to carry ourselves in any foul manner. None of us, none of the acts," he said of his Cash Money roster. "We've been doin' this, we want to do this for another 20 years."

Still, the CM CEO understands how quickly things can get out of hand. He recalls a time where shootings weren't uncommon between warring factions but now sees those types of altercations as a thing of the past. "It's a different era, and we don't promote that, we're not about that, but I think sometimes sh-- get outta hand, and you just gotta be ready for it," he said. "We did enough of that, so these n---as ain't got to do it."

On Saturday (June 16), rumors of an imminent Drake arrest were circulating on the Net but an NYPD official confirmed to MTV News that were "no arrests" looming, adding that an "investigation is ongoing."
