Richard Ayoade's ( Submarine ) adaptation of Fyodor Dostoyevsky's The Double is moving forward and, according to The Hollywood Reporter , has just added Mia Wasikowska to its cast. She'll star opposite the previously-announced Jesse Eisenberg.
The original novella (under the title The Double: A Petersburg Poem ) was published in 1846 and focuses on a file clerk who begins to lose his grip on sanity when a duplicate version of himself appears and begins to take over his life.
Eisenberg will play the lead (Yakov Petrovich Golyadkin in the original, but likely to be re-named) as well as his doppelganger while Wasikowska's role remains unconfirmed.
