Following yesterday's debut of the film's Cannes teaser poster comes word, via The Hollywood Reporter , that Sir Anthony Hopkins is negotiating to joing the cast of Summit Entertainment's upcoming RED 2 .
Set to hit theaters on August 2, 2013, RED 2 features the return of Bruce Willis, John Malkovich, Mary-Louise Parker and Helen Mirren with new roles for Catherine Zeta-Jones and Byung-Hun Lee.
The sequel is being directed by Dean Parisot with a screenplay from Erich and Jon Hoeber, who wrote the script for the original RED , based in turn on a comic book by Warren Ellis and Cully Hammer.
The film brings back the team of retired CIA operatives as they use their old-school style to take on a new set of enemies all across Europe.
